1 skein of 5-self-striping sock yarn each stripe is approximately 5-6 rows depending on gauge on a 64 st. sock. 1 skein of sock yarn (in this case approx 85g stripes + 30g mini) is enough to knit a pair of socks in most sizes up to a men's US 10.5.
